Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the business: Health Care Business
Kind of development: New program from scratch
Description of requirements/functionality: We are looking to build an Android application for our Health Care clients based on a Maker board. The project has already been fully prototyped in Python on another platform, and we have a thorough understanding of scope.
Screen layouts and Python/QT code are available from the previous development to give this project a running start.
The application is to be used alongside a machine that helps physically disabled persons regain strength.
Brief Overview:
1) The application must be designed to run on an Android compatible board such as Udoo, Banana Pi etc. The developer will be responsible for selecting and recommending a low-cost board suitable for the application's requirements.
2) The board must be PWM capable and send 3.3v or 5v signals to a dedicated motor driver board. It must be able to output data to a 7" touchscreen display and HD video to a TV simultaneously (dual display). We have successfully achieved this with RasberryPi3, but that board does not currently support Android.
3) The application is divided into the following main topics:
(a) A User and Media database. This database is held locally on the machine and must also connect to a remote server for uploads/downloads once a day. A WiFi module is therefore required for the board.
(b) Output of a PWM signal to a motor driver board. The duty cycle of the output will be determined by a field in the User database.
(c) A "skype type" video conferencing facility. The application must be able to make and receive video calls.
In summary, this phase of the application's development is a media player with the ability to select a User and Media to be played from a database. In addition, a streaming "skype type" A/V application is required. The developer will be expected to recommend a suitable service provider for this if necessary.
Moving forwards into Phase 2 of the development once this phase has been completed, games will also be introduced into the system along with AR and 360. Further development of the application will include porting part of the application to a standard 10" tablet.
It is anticipated that the successful candidate for this project would also develop Phase 2 and 3 of the project.
We are looking to develop this very quickly and will study all offers.
