Description
Experience Level: Expert
My company is looking for highly skilled and experienced MS Access 2007 database developers with excellent VBA skills to assist on government contracts.
I do have an excellent developer already, but there’s obviously only so much she can do at one time and currently we have two on-going contracts with hopefully a lot more to come. These contracts also include service and maintenance agreements (one is 1 year, and the other is 3 years) so I need more manpower and would like a small contractor pool to call on when required.
You may be required for all or only some of the following:
1. Design of the whole database to the client’s requirements in Access 2007, with development to automatically import and export data (fuller requirements below).
2. Help out on or take over an Access database under development if the developer is unable to work for any reason or is required on another project.
3. Provide assistance to the developer with any requirements that need particular VBA coding (two heads are better than one!).
4. Be part of a pool of developers providing telephone support, occasional on-site visits if the problem requires it, and any upgrades or additional features the client may request (you wouldn’t be expected to do attend if you are not available, hence a pool is required).
The work will be done remotely, however, you will need to live a commutable distance to London in case of site visits and client meetings in London (and possibly St Albans) for requirement gathering, system demonstrations and on-going site support.
The databases have to work on the client's network, which restricts coding to VBA modules within MS Office applications. They basically need to do the same thing, which is to automatically import data on Word and Excel files attached to emails, include a full search facility, plus develop basic reporting macros/templates within the database to export data to pre-existing file formats in Word and Excel.
Please respond with your best hourly rate and a CV is essential as the client will also need to see it if you are successful. Obviously, there is a distinct advantage if you have public sector experience. The hourly rate is restricted as the current contracts are already in progress and the cost to the client cannot be increased.
Please make sure before you bid that:
1. You are willing and able to travel to London (maybe St Albans) for meetings, plus any site visits for support.
2. You can include your CV in your bid (or have one uploaded to your portfolio).
3. As you will be working on Government contracts, you do not have a criminal record or belong to any anti-government protest groups (checks will be made).
Please use the board for any questions, which I will check regularly.
