Easy to use Psychic Event Map application.
Platform: multi - iPAD, iPhone. Landscape or portrait.
FREE app.
Features:
On load it will download an xml feed of events, which includes the event date, title, description, lng and lat data and category. — THIS FEED HAS ALREADY BEEN CREATED AND READY TO USE.
The event map can be refreshed by the user, so it updates with any new events. Also, when the app is loaded/reloaded it refreshed the map.
The events will be plotted onto a map. The user can click the marker to see the event information. Each event is assigned to a category. The user has the ability to filter the map by selecting/unselecting different categories. Please refer to the web version here:
http://thespiritguides.co.uk/EventMap.aspx
The map can be zoomed to the current user location (if switched on) or enter a postcode, town name etc to locate their position.
The app is UK based only.
When clicking on an event marker the user can add that to their in-app favorites and add it to their device calendar.
The app will also have an option to push notify each day if there are any events within a certain radius. By default a 20 mile radius. With the option to change the radius. The app will need to refresh the xml data in order to get the latest events for the push notification.
Note: Event markers can contain a list of many events as some events may share the same geographic location. This is achieved in the web version by display all events for that marker when clicked.
Sorry if my understanding of push notifications are not correct.
In order for you to notify all users of any events in their area, does the data need to be on your server or can it be managed by the app?
So when the user sets their location either using GPS or by searching for it, you or app will store the current location against some kind of unique user key. And then your serve or app will also download the latest xml file to work out who needs to be notified of what events? - The notifications go to all users of events near them.
So I'm assuming you will store on your server or within app:
(I say server or within app as I'm not sure how you need to do this)
Userkey
User Current location
Radius (Default 20 mile)
Latest xml feed as well.
The user also has the ability to Add an Event. This will be a http post or url get (coded by me on the server side) to allow people to add events from the app.
This will also automatically send an email from the sever side to them (coded by me).
And it will also include their event on the what’s on section of TheSpiritGuides.co.uk. Again all server side will be done by me. So it’s just handling the app side and retrieving the feeds and allowing them to post an event back.
I will supply server feeds for this which will contain:
Event Category ID List
Event Region ID List
The add event will need to capture:
Event Title
Contact Name
Event Date
Event Time
Description
Event Category ID
Event Region ID
Email Address
Website
Event Address
Post Code (this is important in order to capture the lng and lat data)
lng
lat
All server side code will be done by me.
SO it’s basically a better version of the web app:
http://thespiritguides.co.uk/EventMap.aspx
With extra features to:
Add an event
Add to favourites
Add to calendar
Notify each day of any events near them.
For debugging purposes please use crittercism so that the full debug symbols are loaded and can be easily debugged.
Submit to app store.
Thanks
Ian
