Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
An analyst programmer is required to take control, steer and continue development of an existing bespoke Business System for a small but dynamic organisation in the Renewable Energy sector. The softwares estimated to presently meet 50%-60% of the business requirements and is designed to help manage the companys core functions including personnel recruitment and enquiry logging through to quotations and provide an overview of commercial projects.
An approximate estimate is 3 months development work, based in Central Bristol. Accommodation is available in the shared company flat as part of package.
Please specify if you are interested with, or without, accommodation.
You must have demonstrable AP skills from previous development projects and a strong ability to translate business requirements into workable software solutions.
An existing live, part completed, system written in C# over Microsoft SQL Server. Minimal XML. SQL Reporting.
You need the ability to prioritise functional requirements to effectively manage the development process.
A Functional Spec was written but has not updated for over a year. It needs updating regularly. Available on request.
Youll be required to manage another (part time) Analyst Programmer, subdivide the work and liaise with them regularly.
You should be very business focussed with ability to relate and translate the business requirements.
You will need to survey and interview local users to determine requirements.
You will be a local champion for the system and provide end user training where necessary.
You need either strong User Interface Design / programming experience or the ability to source and manage separate User Interface development.
You should be highly motivated and self sufficient with the ability to take decisions and initiative.
The System has no web front end at present; there may be a future requirement either for this, or for a centralised Remote Desktop / Terminal Services / Citrix / App-V solution in order to provide better remote access.
System requires configuration of SQL reporting Services, specification, management and design of reports (including scheduled reports).
