Experience Level: Intermediate
Hi Abigail!

I hope you are well :-)

I have a written assignment to submit by the end of the Month and I hope you can help me.

Is 750 words. It will not be formally assessed but I would like to make a good impression!

Here is the description

This is an opportunity to write about your first experiences of Artists Live, as a spectator/witness, and the power and potential of the arts as a means of expression. This can be creatively explored in your arts journal, for example, and then adjusted to form a reflective piece of writing, (up to 750 words long as a rough guide), to be

handed in at the end of term. This is not an essay, and can be creative and personal, whilst including relevant reflection and thinking. We would like you to include at least one reference to a theoretical resource, and to reference this correctly. We would like the submission to be typed, 1.5 or double spaced, with your name and your tutor’s name clearly marked. Images can be included.

The purpose of this assignment is threefold:

* We want you to begin to think reflectively about your experience of the creative process as a communicator and vehicle for expression and change: a subject and process that will be continually developed throughout the course.

* This assignment is set before the submission of the first essay, partly to meet UEL criteria, but also to offer a chance to ‘oil the wheels’ of your writing capability, to experiment with a written exercise that is not formally assessed. You have the choice to experiment with creative writing, or more academic writing, or a mixture of both, which ever serves you best at this point.

* We hope you will enjoy this first assignment, with the opportunity to write freely and creatively; the evidence of your reflection and thinking simply being the submission of your piece of writing to the tutors.

Some things to consider: for your assignment and ongoing interest

- reflections on your response to another’s performance/creative expression

-reflections on the anticipated performance of your own artists live.

-your observations of the ‘group’ response,

-your observation/experience of creative expression in workshops

-your experience of other arts forms and performances (e.g. theatre, dance, art galleries)

-your thinking in response to relevant reading, for example, about art, performance, the artist in society, the therapeutic potential of creative expression, rites of passage and initiation, the relationship between artist and viewer, performer and spectator, client and witness.

Please find attached what I have written.
Please let me know how much will this be
Is not urgent so I can wait when you have time

Thank you
