Voice recording for amateur documentary / mockumentary

Hi everyone,

This is my first time using this website, so please forgive me if I'm doing something wrong! I'm creating a fake documentary for my dad for his 60th birthday. I have a 30 min video that will need roughly 600 words of narration over the course of that time. Its both funny and sentimental, so I'm thinking of a reading/VO that is in tone of narration on movie "hitchhikers guide to galaxy". But again, open to others.

I'm not sure if talent typically submit a VO of a line as a test, but if so here is the opening to the documentary:

"Something peculiar happened on the day of December 30th, 1956. Most people hardly noticed, but in the town of Tillsonberg a baby was born. That baby would soon be known globally as Rick DeeVee."
