We provide web-based software to help owners of B&Bs and guesthouses manage their reservations and guests.
Our software is aimed at people who currently use pen-and-paper to record their reservations, or who use out-dated, clunky software. It is easy on the eye, and pleasant to use (no hunching and squinting at the screen trying to figure out what to click next).
We currently market it online, globally, and wish to test whether direct sales would be an effective way to supplement our sales. We are initially looking for one UK-based commission-only sales agent to sell our web-based software to B&Bs and guesthouses in their area. You would do some / all of the following:
- Organise talks and demonstrations at relevant networking events (e.g. a meeting of the local hospitality association)
- Organise prospects to come to your own demonstration events
- Cold-call (on the phone or maybe even door-to-door) to secure one-on-one demonstrations
You would earn a commission for each customer you sign up. Commission will depend on the size of the account, but we'd expect you to earn around £100 per signed-up customer. (Our software is sold as a subscription service, priced per room per month. The bigger the B&B/guesthouse, the more commission you would receive).
Our ideal candidate would:
- Be comfortable with computers (but definitely wouldn't need to be expert - we don't want prospects bamboozled with jargon.)
- Be excellent at demonstrating and explaining things
- Be comfortable presenting to small groups
- Perhaps have some familiarity with the tourism sector
- Be enthusiastic but not aggressive: B&B owners are often a close-knit community, getting this wrong in one town could harm our chances of ever selling there again!
How much time you commit is entirely up to you, while we both test the water with what is a new sales channel for us.
