Elections Street Team
Salary: £9.33 per hour
Shift: shifts will vary but will occur between the hours of 10am to 8pm
Dates from: Monday 10am 22nd of Feb 2016.
Dates to: Friday 11pm 26th of Feb 2016
Responsible to: Elections Operations Group
Background
University of East London Students Union is a democratically lead charity. UELSU holds elections on an annual basis. We are looking for individuals who are good get communicating with students and encouraging them to vote.
Main Duties
• To assist with the promotion and marketing of the SU elections.
• To be ambassadors for UELSU
• To take responsibility for the distribution of posters/ flyer and interaction with students within allocated area.
• Using social media to promote relevant information, news, promotions and offers.
• To feedback on promotional activities and distributions, highlighting success and areas that could be improved.
• To work within the Students' Union's parameters regarding local promotional restrictions to maintain good relationships with the local communities and authorities.
• To wear Students' Union Street Team branded clothing or other promotional clothing where appropriate (this will be provided).
• To work safely at all times and to report any potential hazards on to supervisor/line manager
• Any other appropriate duties as assigned by your line manager
Standards
1. As the post holder will have considerable contact with students, he/she will need to act in a polite, courteous and helpful manner. At all times he/she will be concerned with ensuring that customers are satisfied with the service received.
2. The post holder will present themselves for work being clean and tidy, wearing any stipulated uniform cleaned and ironed, or theme dress.
3. The post holder will display the highest standards of integrity at all times.
4. The post holder will observe high standards of punctuality.
5. The post holder will not consume alcohol or illegal substances whilst on duty or arrive on duty under the influence of either.
6. The post holder will have a flexible approach to the hours and days worked
