We are a B2B events company based in Ottawa, Canada. We have been operating since 2009. Under the brand names "Energy and Mines" and "Canadian Clean Energy Conferences", we produce events on renewables procurement, carbon policy and the use of renewables energy in the mining sector.
One such event is the Energy and Mines World Congress which takes place in Toronto at the end of November. This November will be the 5th edition of this event in Toronto and the 11th time we have held this event around the world with other editions in Santiago, London, Johannesburg and Perth.
We are looking for an experienced B2B conference sales director to sell out the exhibition and drive sponsorship for the conference and awards.
We are looking for a responsible, intelligent, hard-working person to help drive this brand to where we feel it can go. This would involve solidifying current sponsors/exhibitors from current market sectors but also introducing our brand, hub site and events to a broader sponsor community.
The sales person needs to be an ambassador for our company to current and new clients.
The person would have to very rapidly become comfortable with the nuances of this niche market sector and would be a conduit , not only for new customers but for new ideas, content and new sales channels.
We feel nothing beats talking to people, understanding their business, their market needs and to match these with our services and offerings as well as exploring other revenue generating streams. The role would be phone-intensive with KPIs set for call volumes, length of time on calls and new client acquisition.
Additionally, as a remote worker, the person clearly has to be able to self-manage, self-motivate and be driven by a need to help new and current clients achieve their sales and marketing goals while meeting our targets.

If you are interested, please send a CV and covering letter explaining your suitability for, or interest in the role, and links or brochures to events you have been involved in.
We would pay a basic plus commission structure. The basic would be USD$50K pa pro-rata. The contract would be for one event with a successful employee then asked to work on a full portfolio of 4 or 5 events.
