I am in the feasibility stage of a new brand initially selling shirts to the mountain biker community in the UK. We need a basic website to get us through this stage, with a view to moving to a more comprehensive one once we have proven our offering to be viable.
We have branding done, so the supplier would need to work with our designer (UK) remotely and use our existing graphics. We don't have web-specific graphics such as menus and top-banners, etc.
Initially we need:
- home page with intro to the brand and company info
- Legal stuff - contact, info, etc.
- News page (standard news or blog format is fine - just events, pics, etc.)
- An opinions and feedback page where we post designs and ask for ratings and text feedback. Ideally we'd like this to be re-usable so we can post new designs. How the data is collated is less important, but obviously a database is preferable to emails. We would weigh up the relative costs and benefits of options if given.
Soon afterwards we will be needing basic e-commerce, and this should be costed separately (not necessarily included in the budget below). A small, simple set of products divided in to a small number of ranges. Need to take credit cards.
Ideally we need the full package - domain, hosting, payment facilities. We'd like to be able to edit our own content and product catalogue.
The name of the game at present is to keep costs down for this feasibility stage, but we do have to present a professional if simple presence. Ideas are welcome!
Dealing with suppliers with English as 1st language would be preferable. Ideal location is SW England, but we're used to working remotely so not a requirement.
