Description
Experience Level: Expert
Please read the following information carefully before bidding - this job was previously listed on a different specification - if you did bid for that one, please submit a fresh bid for these new requirements (as PPH has not updated the changes, we have just had to list a new job)
Once again all 'generic' type bids will be automatically rejected.
Background:
I run a start up volunteering organisation. We are a registered non-profit organisation looking to establish a website for our launch in September 2010. We will be launching in various universities and colleges and will need a Joomla (or similar) powered website with an integrating social networking platform, blog and forum such as JomSocial which provides many of the features we need.
We are primarily looking for those with skills in functionality and some design skills.
IF YOU CAN ONLY COMPLETE FUNCTIONALITY - please reflect this on the bid. We will then search for a designer. Ideally you can do both - but we do not mind having two people working together.
We will only consider you if you have experience of a past portfolio or speak to us via private message board in advance (if this is not the case)
Budget:
I have a tight budget given that this is coming out of my own personal expenses given that we are a start up providing support for the community.
As JomSocial for example has the features like facebook connect that I already want, this does not require a lot of input from yourselves, it is more a case of design and ensuring our functionality works.
£650 is the budget I have set for this (including purchase of JomSocial Professional as well as MyBlog add on or another similar system)
We would consider more given experience, portfolio etc... but we would appreciate and most likely go with the most competitive quote given our circumstances and being a non-profit.
Relationship with you:
We seek to establish a continued relationship with you, so you can support us with maintenance. We will also recommend you to our partner organisations which are currently six established charities, two of which are globally recognised.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for an experienced developer/team of developers to support us in creating a fully functional CMS driven website through Joomla (or similar) in the style of a magazine style blog with the functionality discussed below. This should integrate a blog, forum, relevant pages as well as using open source software so that it is easily upgradeable.
Colour scheme:
Our colour scheme is a deep blue, orange and leaf green which matches our logo, however we are open to ideas and creativity on this part of what you think would work.
CMS Systems:
We would prefer if you are able to use Joomla which would be a standard site with an integrated community through JomSocial as well as an integrated blog and forum which all can be integrated together. It was require more so a designer with an eye for design and skills in coding.
Essential functionality (please DO not bid if you are not able to do this)
Facebook Connect - already plugin available through JomSocial - we would just only require a little bit of editing to this so a screen also pops up after the connection so they can input their email address and name again.
Video content - We would like open source software to be added to enable users to add video/audio comments through a live webcam or upload their own. We do have an idea of how this works - we welcome your ideas.
Other important functionality needed:
Flash - on the main page and a little bit on a couple of others
Forum - fully integrated - perhaps ccBoard (although I believe JomSocial already has this) - the comments and JomSocial should be integrated with this
Advertisements - Ad Modules to be installed - readily available on Joomla
Donation button - via paypal perhaps - Joomla again
Message/Chat system - may need some development on your side to create a chat system between users.
Blog - this would need the video content API more than anything else, this would be the main part of the site alongside the community part which would need to be integrated
Layout (provisional):
Home Page (integrated with the community, blog, forum updates)
About us
Projects (various pages)
Our team
Funders
Community - JomSocial or equivalent system
Blog - integrated with all aspects of site including JomSocial
Forum - integrated with JomSocial
We are looking for people with skills in:
SEO friendly coded websites
Creating fresh designs (not generic templates)
Experience with Joomla and/or JomSocial
Fresh design skills with the ability to reach out to 16-25 year olds*
*does not apply if you are only bidding for functionality.
If you have any questions, please get in touch. We are looking for those who want to establish a relationship with our growing organisation as we are currently in London, Sydney and Los Angeles so please bear that in mind when quoting.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Nik
