Background information
Organization or website name
Iterate AS
Description of the website and its target audience
We are an IT consultancy firm that - besides providing development services - helps established businesses with their innovation projects via the Lean Startup methodology.
Industry
Technology
Existing website to reference
iterate.no and concrete for this project info.iterate.no/lean-startup (they're both terrible)
Visual style
Style/theme ideas for the Web page design
In terms of image and atmosphere, we would like to communicate the following:
Chalkboard. Silicon Valley tech startup. “Facebook of Norway”. Great place to work. Campus. Beer brewing. “Code for your life”. Creativity. We even enjoy spending time together after work. Hackathons. Coding nights. Market experiments. “How far can we develop an idea in four hours?”. Join us and we will complete your training...
Inspirational websites
http://kula.guuhuu.com/
Clean and tidy style, nice understated colors.
http://www.wired.co.uk/
I like the use of images, the grid, and the menu on the left hand side for filtering.
http://www.reverse-magazine.com/
Nice hover effect on the articles, and clean tag style. Also, I like categorization via (obscure) icons.
https://yourkarma.com/
Great fresh colors, and cool use of video in the hero area.
https://www.nowness.com/
Fantastically clean and stylish but probably way too cool for us.
http://www.sitepoint.com/
Nice use of color for categorization of articles but otherwise kind of boring.
https://signalvnoise.com/
I like the typesetting, and the subtle but elegant use of decoration (for a lack of a better term) as a divider.

Landing page
=========
We want to aggregate different types of content in one place. Users will come directly to the page, and will then be sent to the respective content items from there. We will add content items manually for the time being.
The page should be easy to navigate, invite to browse and to find out more. On this page, we would like to indicate visually which pieces are recommended for newbies, and the user should be able to filter by category or search. Tongue in cheek is allowed!
Sign-up page
=========
We want a multi-purpose sign-up page for our events, ideally with a nice photo/video hero area. The page needs to hold informative text, imagery (e.g. photos, illustrations), event details, and a sign-up form with name, and email address. The text on the page can in some cases be relatively long and should therefore be easy to read.
What to avoid
Maybe go a bit easy on the flatness, and avoid the cliché combination of light blue and orange to communicate innovation...
Other
Notes
We are updating our brand image. I have attached the old guidelines which we consider mostly outdated now, but which could serve as inspiration. We cannot completely drop the blue we use in our logo but it does not have to be the exact same shade of blue.
I have also attached a wireframe I made for discussing the concept. This also is meant more as an inspiration, or clarification, than it is a fixed "template".
Also, I recommend taking a look at this: https://www.iterate.no/mennesker/ and this: http://blog.iterate.no/ for our use of chalkboard drawings.
