Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Kind of design: Theme/template
Ideas for the visual style: rustic, photography based, whitewashed, chimneys, mountains
Things to avoid: modern typography
Extra notes: I need a creative person to create me a visually appealing design for a rustic Spanish hotel. The design needs to implemented as static html using the latest release of the Bootstrap 3 framework with any graphic assets and javascript included. In other words I am not just looking for Photoshop mockups, although you may choose to supply some before committing to actual HTML/CSS development. The template website can use dummy text content but we need to identify specific photos where they are highlighted in carousels or used a page backgrounds etc. It can be sent to me as a zip or via email/Dropbox etc. and/or loaded onto your webserver.
The hotel has an existing ( completely outdated and poorly designed ) website, but no logo ( you may decide a logo is necessary or maybe not ). The new website needs to completely responsive and will probably make much use of photos of the region, the hotel, and Alpujarras related objects. I have some photos and also a small budget for stock photos if necessary.
We'll need a front page design ( probably but not necessarily utilising a carousel or slideshow ), a meet the team page design, a photo gallery page layout ( with some kind of lightbox for displaying photos ), and a general page layout that allows photos to be presented alongside text. And probably 1 more page design. Obviously all the pages will share many common elements ( header, footer ). The website will be multilingual using a language switcher but I'll handle this.
The hotel is in the mountainous Alpujarras region of Southern Spain which is famous for :
- whitewashed villages perched on the mountainside
- flat roofed houses with unique chimneys
- public fountains
- working donkeys
- upstairs balconies with hanging baskets
If you Google the region you'll get the idea. The colour white, the shape of the roofs/chimneys, and the mountain backdrop may be the key visual cues.
I am a Drupal developer, but not a visual creative, and will be using the agreed designs to build the full website. The designs may credit you for "Website design" if you wish.
The hotel owners are not difficult to please, but they can occasionally be a little hard to steer in the right direction. However this will be my job, not yours. I expect the design process to be iterative and an initial front page proposal ( PSD or built ) available within 2 weeks of awarding the project.
You will need to be English speaking, totally competent with Bootstrap 3 and any other Javascript libraries you want to bring on board. Obviously you will also need visual flair and have the ability to create any graphic assets the design requires. I'm an easy going guy and will help you in every way I can, but the end result will be everything !!!!

Hello Dave,
I'm interested in submitting a proposal for your project. Could you please provide a little more information about the website?
** Do you have any preference for the design/look of the new website? Can you provide any examples etc?
I look forward to hearing back from you.
Kind regards,
Zakaria
