SEO friendly URL's on Joomla forum (Kuena)

I have a forum using Kuena on a Joomla website. I cannot get SEO-friendly url's to work.
To clarify, I want urls to look like this, www.domainname.com/forum/category/topic/thread
Instead I am getting nonsense url's like www.domainname.com/subject23412341aa/cat1231ja
I have tried using the SEO-friend urls option on the site backend but then the whole forum dies.
Need someone who can do a quick and cheap fix. Please let me know your total bid to complete the job.
