Project details
Shopping basket incorporation within an existing HTML brochure website which currently contains approximately 40 products.
The plan is to covert the site into an e-commerce site enabling customers to buy product through the site.
I am not looking to commission extensive scripting or programming rather incorporate an existing low cost shopping basket functionality / scripting.
Basic functionality / buying process
Each product will need buttons to allow customers to "add to basket". After this point customers will see a summary including a product description and will have the option to amend the quantity ordered.
Customers also need to be able to review their purchases by clicking %u201Cview shopping basket%u201D where they can amend the quantity of items or remove items.
Having added one item a button should allow them to %u201Ccontinue shopping%u201D.
Finally having finished shopping a button should allow them to %u201Cgo to checkout%u201D after which they complete their address details and proceed through the payment phase. This is also an opportunity to capture their data to be used for marketing purposes. At this point they would virtually set up an account if possible within the brief.
The purchase link is individualized to each product and includes the price, product code and description which is passed to the shopping basket.
The review purchase function means the customer can check on the items ordered. They can also proceed to the checkout. These buttons will be placed below the product code on each product page. I would like large buttons in the companies%u2019 colours as per the clients brand identity.
To re-iterate we need to keep costs down so I am not looking to commission relatively expensive programming / script writing. Instead I am looking to utilise existing shopping basket functionality which can be re-formatted to fit in with the existing look of the website. We will be using Paypal Pro functionality as this operates in the background so at no point should the customer feel they are operating outside of the website.
Terms and condition pages need to be incorporated as well as a page/message which thanks clients for their support which they see after PayPal has accepted payment this will have a standard piece of imagery included which I will supply.
Additional requirements
Ongoing work
Moving forwards there will be ongoing product additions.
Out of stock / special offers / clearance
Also we may run out of certain items so it needs to be quick, relatively cheap and easy to outline items currently out of stock and advise when more is expected or a link added to ensure direct access to the contact page to find out when more is due.
In addition we may run special offers from time to time. This needs to be quick, easy and relatively inexpensive to achieve
