Estimated project duration: 3 - 4 weeks
Industry: Education
Kind of design: Theme/template
Num. of web pages: 8 - 10
Ideas for the visual style: some websites that catch the eye:http://www.awwwards.com/web-design-awards/extremely-piaget http://www.michaelgonzalezfirm.com/about/ and http://www.creativity101.com/
Website url: gradbridge.org
Extra notes: We have launched a new business called Gradbridge. It will prepare students (undergraduates) for the workplace by setting a course which tests and develops them in key skills including teamwork, communication, strategy and resource management. Its a proven formula already used in business. The event will have physical and intellectual components.
We have written most of the content and have (we believe) a great logo. The website is based on wordpress and uses a theme called Nayama (really good and flexible). We want to stay with this as we are familiar with it and can make further changes after your work has finished.
The users of the website will be students and businesses. Businesses will want to attract / interview people who have the Gradbridge experience. The website should make things look simple, explain concepts well, and resonate with the business workplace...Although students are using it, we don't want it to be "trendy" or "down with the kids" ...this is about getting a job. We want it to be friendly and accessible though - always leading them to register their interest. Our content may be too wordy, or maybe it can be set in a easy to follow design...(thats where you come in).
We will want to incorporate videos. ...some will probably be animated...other will be of talking heads yet to be filmed.
Imagery is an issue...we need certain sorts of imagery of young people succeeding , getting a job etc - but also competing by kayaking, running, mountain biking. The event has not been run so we don't have our own event photography. We need to use library shots and superimpose our logo on the sports wear. You need to be good at identifying and manipulating great imagery and know where to get top images. Perhaps we will want to use some of this imagery for creating a banner(s)...so it might be one of the first things you do.
We are not looking for structural help with website - more a styling, touch and look and feel...the way it is presented (fonts, headings, images sets, icons, colours, etc etc etc). You should be able to demonstrate a portfolio of great websites.
We also need a register interest component and maybe a payment component too...where participants can pay by credit card to participate (what cart do you recommend? We have used Shopify before)...
If you think this is you, please apply!
