Hi People,
This is a shout out for help. I am not getting the results that i am asking for and this is no disrespect to the people i have hired they have all had their own views on how to solve my issue but it has not got solved. I am a fair man and i don't expect anyone to work for free and i have always paid the proposal amount even though i have had no result which is frustrating because i have now paid out hundreds of pounds but not had the exact result i want. I will try to explain my problem in detail as to try save time as i am getting very frustrated i can't solve my issue, and certainly do not want to waste your time.
I have purchased a social media script which is installed and working good apart from one major issue. I have 2 apps for this script which were also purchased as a plug in script to work with the main script. I am still waiting for the ios app to be confirmed with apple but the android apk app is up and running. I have been told that this app which was generated through android studio basically displays a web view which i am happy about as any changes i make to the website will be reflected in the app. The problem i have is that at the moment when a user uploads a video to their timeline when its is displayed in the app it doesn't generate a thumbnail just a blank background and a play button. I contacted the developer and they told me that the problem is that ffmpeg is not installed.
They said its something that they could look into in the future but that does not help me or solve my issue ? I have been told i can't install ffmpeg to my server as its a hosted account but if i upgrade to vps server then i can install from root ? If this is the issue i will upgrade but i need assurances that this will allow the app to generate a thumbnail on video upload. What is confusing me is if the app is just a web view why it doesn't show the thumbnail ? Also this works ok on all browsers on a laptop the thumbnails show fine, in the mobile browser though it works fine on google and edge browser but not on fire fox and not on iphone safari. This is very confusing. Basically all i am asking for is that when a user uploads a video to their timeline it will automatically generate a thumbnail whether its viewed on a laptop, mobile browser or in app.
Can someone please help me do this and i am way over budget all ready but who ever helps me do this i can guarantee further work as the website grows as i have investors in place and will always be updating the script.
