Experience Level: Expert
I need assessment/advice by a structural engineer on the following:

A skylight window has been installed without doubling the vertical rafters. A structural engineer’s advice is sought for to decide if the window can stay as it is, or the rafters need to be reinforced, and over what length.

Technical drawing and measurements about the roof.

- The rafters are 400mm apart, 38x100m in diameter, and 3m long between the two support point.
- The window is installed mid distance between the support points (bottom and top at 1m-1m away from support point).
- By cutting through one rafter in the middle, the window fits perfectly between two rafters with center at 800mm apart. Horizontal noggins have been applied.
- The window weighs 30 kg.
- The tiles weigh 75kg/m2.
