Experience Level: Expert
Electronics Design Engineer able to design new products from concept through to production ready. Standardised on PIC Microchip in team and so require someone able to code PIC firmware in both assembler and C.

We design battery powered RFID tracking and sensing devices (temperature, light, humidity etc) so appreciation of low power budget design techniques will be useful to maximise battery life. These are relatively simple compact devices with off the shelf components of between 10 - 30 components. Experience integrating off the shelf GPRS modules such as Telit, and RF modules particularly in the ISM bands of 433 MHz, 868 MHz, 2.44 GHz etc also relevant.

The freelancer ideally has experience of new product development from building a proof of concept breadboard device, prototype, test, through to production ready. Able to layout and design PCB in both surface mount and through-hole variants, including helping to select the components.

Freelance UK working from home and ideally located SE England, or able to meet occasionally in SE England. The ideal candidate will have own tools and simple home workshop capability (room / kitchen table / shed / garage etc) for prototype assembly and PCB design.

Thank you.
