Hi, I'm a complete newbee with Access, trying to produce a simple database in access which outputs to an excel report, then into word. Its for my own Building Surveys, I write up the reports in access, and save regularly used clauses into a library table, which I then refer to for future, to quickly build Survey reports without having to retype. There are two main tables, tbl_survey_data (the currently report) and tbl_library, which store the repeat clauses. I have set up a cascading combo box to filter the form by report by three levels (Section, category and element) each with their own table after normalising the DB. From the combo box, I have the opportunity to 'edit the list'.

In a nutshell, I need to be able to filter popup list... this is difficult to explain....

I'd be grateful if you could help? I've reached the limit of what I can do.

    Hi Brad

Thanks for contacting me. There might be a case for putting the three levels onto one table and to relate them by parent and child id. I would need to see some data to confirm this and also some data.

    Many thanks
