Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 1 - 2 weeks
I need mockups for a meditation app, in PSD. Screens and splash; iOS and Android, iPhones, iPad and phones and tablet. Text language will be in Danish/Norwegian.
I do not want a design with lots of changes. Clean, smoothe and simple design, with just one background picture.
We will have both old and young users. The old ones are not used to rapid changes at all, and the young ones get bored very easy.
And using the same picture might be boring in the context of todays society with multiple changes every minute, but I want this app to represent a different mindset. (this app will be free, no in-app sales or monetizing - totally free with no subscription and without earning motivations)
If users get bored and leave the app on screen two, they are not ready to go further to the meditations, and that is ok.
Repetitions is an important part of meditation, and so are simplicity, solitude, calmness and nothingness. These elements may cause unrest, and cause people to move on to another app, and if so – let it be. I still want these elements to be reflected in the design.
We will also have highly sensitive users, and users with PTSD, ME and other conditions where they get tired and confused by changes. So no extra buttons, colors or distractions.
Less is more.
I have made a rough skeleton, and you are welcome to check it out to get an idea of the flow.

There are two apps. One named "Screens" (outline of the screens), and one named "Meditation app" where all the text is included.
Comments to the rough skeleton:
Have in mind that this is just a skeleton, not the way i want it to be. The background picture is the right one, but don’t mind anything else.
Some of our old users don't see as good as young people, so nice if the font and row size reflect that.
I'd like the rows to be from the bottom and up, not from the top and down as in the skeleton. I like soft and rounded rows with a background color with high opacity.
When you first enter the appbuilder and see the skeleton, on the first screen you see three categories; Screen 2, Screen 3, Screen 4.
I want only Screen 2 and Screen 3 to be seen here on the first screen. I want users to swipe to see Screen 4.
There are many identical screens;
Screen 2 same as Screen 3
Screen 2a same as Screen 2b, 3a and 3b
Screen 2a1-4 contain lists of meditations, the same do Screen 2b1-4, 3a1-4 and 3b1-4.
Screen 4 contain 4 sub categories, which will have plain text (one of them will contain a contact form)
What I need which isn’t in the skeleton:
- navigation bar so users quickly may navigate
- I'd like a button (a heart) in top right corner with a drop down with three options;
1. My favorites.
2. Updates
3. Reminder
1. My favorites. I’d like an option for the user to mark the meditation as a favorite. This might be a "heart-button" (transparent center when not marked as favorite), in the player screen.
And in the top right corner of the app, we have the heart button as well so you may easily navigate to the favorite screen, where you will find the meditations you have marked.
2. Updates – On this screen, user may decide if he wants to receive notifications on updates and/or new notifications. Opt in/opt out.
3. Reminder – here the user can choose to be reminded to meditate (e.g. three options: Daily at a specific time / weekly at a specific day and time, and just one specific time)
This reminder will be sent as a push notification.
You are welcome to let me know if you think I should do something differently for the user experience to be better.
