I need a simple logo design for a news site

Information for the business: We're a news website focusing on viral news
Industry: Publishing/Journalism
Type of logo: Word mark
Brand name/slogan in logo: Will reveal brand name to successful candidate, but it's composed of two five-letter words
Ideas for the visual style: Simple, effective, instantly recognisable, easy to read,
Things to avoid: Bad fonts
Preferred colors: Colour palette to be provided
Where the design will be used: Website and social media channels
Extra notes: I'll need a main logo for the website and then a square, stacked version for the Twitter and Facebook pages. Ideally I'd like 3 initial ideas and then we'll revise one of them. My thoughts are that it should be just the lettering (i.e. BuzzFeed) but I'm not totally averse to a bit of an abstract mark or symbol if it's good.
This should be a quick job, hence the budget.
