Description
Experience Level: Entry
Choose Up is a fun and playful web-app that relies mostly on a system of statistics. We know, those usually don’t go together.
Users have the opportunity to do two major things on CUp:
- One, they can vote between two items of a dual, let say Coffee or Tea.
- Two, they may see the stats of the dual and realize where they stand in the spectrum of their world. And this is what we want to emphasize.
We show those stats in the form of a donut chart. As such, our current idea for a logo would be to use the chart. It is also a way to give it the “C” shape of Choose Up and potentially to use a wide range of colors. As you might see in our current logo, the smaller side of the chart is highlighted by a second line, which represents the idea that the user is looking at the least popular side of a dual. It is not only an idea we think might remain, but it also counter-balances the over presence of the first color.
The current colors are brown and green because the first duel the user answers is Coffee or Tea, and the answer would place her in the Coffee Crew or Team Tea. Of course, we are open to suggestions on this point.
For the moment, we use a black background, which might change (and probably will.) The logo we want should be visible on this black background still, and then on other colors as well.
Another idea we had was to give the chart shaped logo the look of the mark left by a cup on a table (See what we did here, CUP/Cup.)
In any case, we are open to ideas but believe that an improvement of our current logo would be the best way to go at it. We hope the logo you will create will bring a clear identity to our website and represent the serious we have put in its making.
