Description
Experience Level: Expert
Need 8 altogether.
Including two maps of Britain.
First map:
To illustrate the UK cities ranked by how many drivers admitted during a survey, getting behind the wheel, in the last 12 months, despite knowing they were at risk of nodding-off. The areas need numbering with the place name and percentage of drivers next to it
1. Birmingham - 18 %
2. Brighton and Hove - 17.8 %
3. Southampton - 16.6 %
4. Newcastle - 16.4 %
5. Portsmouth - 15.3 %
6. Sheffield - 15.3 %
7. London - 14.8 %
8. Bristol - 14.2 %
9. Coventry - 12.5 %
10. Wolverhampton - 12.5 %
Second map:
To illustrate the UK cities ranked according to motorists who admit driving for longer than two hours without taking a break, in the past 12 months - going against the guidance of the Highway Code. Details for how to lay this out is the same as above.
1. Worcester - 50 %
2. Chelmsford - 50 %
3. Oxford - 46 %
4. Southampton - 44 %
5. Wolverhampton - 44 %
6. Portsmouth - 38.4 %
7. Glasgow - 38.4 %
8. Newcastle - 37 %
9. Cardiff - 36.9 %
10. Bristol - 36.7%
Some other sleepy/tired/drowsy related infographics to illustrate the following stats:
- 27% admit driving tired in the 18-24 year old age group.
- 21% of motorists had ‘accidentally driven their vehicle over the middle divider line’ of the road in the last six months - with one in ten saying they’d done so because of bouts of ‘micro sleep’ or ‘drowsiness’.
- The Highway Code recommends motorists take a break - of at least 15 minutes - every two hours.
- 30% of UK motorists flouting the recommendations in the last year, according to this new research.
- You can be fined up to £1,000 if you don’t tell DVLA about a medical condition that affects your driving - and you may be prosecuted if you’re involved in an accident as a result.
- The best-behaved drivers reside in Leicester with just 5.66% of respondents admitting to driving when too tired to do so.
