I was hoping for something quite simple for each, thick strokes with bold blocks of colour, much like this:

It would be nice to have something friendly and approachable, and simple enough to fit well when presented as part of a group. Low visual noise is ideal.
The reason why I need vectors is so that I'm able to scale these images up or down without quality loss, so this should be taken into account during construction so that no artifacting / distortion occurs when resizing the resulting vector images.
In terms of a size to aim for - 120w by 100h is an ideal working area, as text takes up some of the total square at the bottom. I would suggest aiming to center around the mid-point of this working area in order to make the overall buttons these images are used on appear properly balanced.
The following categories will need icons:
- Basic Hiragana
- Basic Katakana
- Advanced Hiragana
- Advanced Katakana
- Verb conjugation
- Advanced verb conjugation (て/te form)
- Particles (わ, を, が)
- Parts of the body
- Days of the week
- Shapes and sizes
- Uncommon Counters 1
- Uncommon Counters 2
- Uncommon Counters 3
- Basic verbs
- Basic verbs 2
- Basic verbs 3
- Basic verbs 4
- Advanced verbs
- Advanced verbs 2
- Advanced verbs 3
- Advanced verbs 4
In addition to the above, I have a tutorial button that has twice the width available (240w by 100h), which would be nice to get an icon for too, however this is non-essential.
As you may not have knowledge of the Japanese language, by all means feel free to enquire further about context for each, especially for ones whose learning contents may be not immediately obvious. Attached is the aforementioned button's layout in wireframe form. The pink area is the safe area for each icon, to give an idea of the overall composition.
