Description
Experience Level: Expert
We're currently seeking an artist/illustrator to collaborate with us on covers for use with tabletop roleplaying game books, both in physical print and digital formats. Our budget for this work is fixed at £350 per illustration and, while the projects will be tackled one at a time, we have a total of 11 covers for product releases to commission and create between now and the end of 2020.
Each illustration will need to be 4,150 pixels wide by 3,450 pixels tall at a minimum of 300 DPI and we will require TIFF and PSD formats to be provided. The unusual sizes account for how we format/present our covers, which fill the whole front of the book and wrap around half of its rear in physical print.
Thematically, each of these illustrations will involve a detailed, high fantasy environment and multiple characters or creatures that are often locked in combat or action-stances, or viewed in another highly engaging and evocative fashion. Space needs to be left around characters/focal points for each illustration to allow for key design elements (titles, sub-titles, logos, etc) to be incorporated into the cover, however we can provide a design template to keep things simple. Several examples have been attached to showcase the kind of illustrations we're looking for.
All works will be undertaken on the basis of Work-For-Hire, with us retaining all ownership/rights to any briefs supplied and everything created as part of our projects. However, we allow any freelancers who work with us to share their creations on social media, in their portfolios, and to send out to prospective clients as examples of their previous work (we may just ask you not to tag us in any posts until any related products have been announced).
~ ABOUT US ~
We're a small, independent game design studio and publishing house that creates adventure modules and rules supplements for tabletop roleplaying games. We've been around for about 5 years but the 'core team' are all now working at the company full time and consequently we're going to be increasing our output significantly in the coming year.
