Hi Jude,
how many designs would you like to start with? Would you be open to manufacturing in China? Beside the design, tech pack, pattern making and grading, I can also help you with fabric sourcing, sampling and manufacturing. Depending on the design, fabric and sizes, quantity as low as 30-50pcs per design is acceptable ;)
Let me know, thanks!
cheers,
AgnesJude S.07 Sep 2019Hi Agnes,
Yes, I am open to everything you mention. This becomes a much bigger project and I'm unsure how we do that through PPH without breaking the whole process down into smaller projects. To clarify:
1. We have a working prototype sized for 12 month old child, but this is to test concept only. The design is basic and I will also provide sketches of the desired finished product.
2. I have yet to receive any proposals from anybody that claims to have experience of pattern design and grading for baby clothes. Proportions are very different to adult clothing and without any experience myself, think it's crucial that anybody I use has the necessary knowledge. I'm unsure, for example, whether one pattern can simply be graded across the various age brackets or whether there needs to be a completely separate pattern for a 0-3 month old as there is for a 9-12 month old.
3. There will be one design in sizes ranging from 0-3, 3-6, 6-9 and 9-12 months. Initially only one fabric choice, neutral boy/ girl, so we can test the market without committing excess capital.
4. I have fabrics in mind, like Polartec fleece. The garment will also be lined.
5. Assuming successful reception and demand from the target market, I will scale up production.
Many thanks,
JudeAgnes L.10 Sep 2019Hi Jude,
thanks for getting back to me!
1. I'm glad that you already have a working prototype, make things a lot easier.
2. Not only I've done pattern design and grading for baby clothes, I've manufactured onesies, pyjamas, tees, leggings, dresses etc. for newborn to 14 years old.
3. One fabric for all is the best way to go, lowers your minimums and cost.
4. Polartec fleece with cotton lining? No problem.
5. Noted.
I would need to know a bit more detail about your project before I am able to send over a proper proposal. How many designs would you like to start with? Can you please show me some images of your prototypes? You can either attach them here on the job post or send me a private message for further discussion? Thanks!
cheers,
Agnes
