Information for the business: Firm dealing mainly with property management for clients home and abroad.
Design details: We are a small friendly and innovative firm looking for a structural engineer with the relevant level of experience and a flair for technical delivery to join our growing business on a part-time/self-employed basis. The perks of the job include flexible working hours with various occasions to work out of office available as well as a competitive salary and the chance to put your personal stamp on a variety of projects based in London, Manchester and Liverpool.
The successful candidate must have an Honours Degree (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering or related discipline (Masters level preferred) with a good level of previous engineering design experience being essential. This should include analysis of structures and detail design of elements in all major materials. An experience of dynamic and seismic design would be beneficial although not essential. This role would suit a retired professional.
All applicants must have a good standard of written English and the ability to write clear technical reports. Experience of highly regulated UK industries would be beneficial plus an understanding of relevant legislative standards

The responsibilities for the role will involve:
Providing technical input into the delivery of projects from inception to handover on time and cost.
Leading small teams of less senior Engineers and Technicians in the technical design of projects and the delivery of calculations, specifications, reports and drawings.
Liaising with members of other technical disciplines within the design team.
Supporting client management through involvement in bidding and winning projects.
Assisting in the successful delivery of projects.
