Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
My business card/ flyers need to carry considerably more text than a conventional business card as local contacts will be offering a new service so customers need to grasp how it can benefit them.
I have worked out what to say but realise my choice of typeface and layout is uninspired. In the past I have submitted advertising to publications for which similar criticisms could be made. The publication's in house designers have then produced a much more effective proof using the same wording.
The service offered is ethical and legal yet a typical assignment from any one Client could crop up only once or twice a year so the flyer has to serve three main functions.
1) To explain what the service is.
2)To show the customers how using it could benefit them (and different clients will have different needs ) Hopefully the need the benefit that is particularly applicable will be easy for them to pick out from the other benefits listed
3) There needs to be space for a local person to enter their contact details by hand without spoiling the overall look of the flyer. Users could use pen rubber stamp or stick on labels. Success for judging the leaflet is if the Reader responds by contacting the local person to see if they can help when they have a need.
The current illustration is a bit of clip art but other suggestions considered.
The service is new but if the reader does use the service described the local contact will perform it themselves so there are no middlemen or commission driven salesmen which helps keep it ethical. Essentially the local contact will be driving the Reader's car on a day when they do not feel like driving.
As this is a new venture there are no existing corporate colours. Paper size could be A5 or A6 and your suggestions on paper stock would be welcome.
By the time you have completed the job the copy will be in such a form that a competent printer can print the leaflets without needing any more decisions from me. Partway through the job I would like a first draft from you to see if the lines you are working along produces the reaction I am hoping for. More background details on the thinking behind the service will be supplied to the winning contractor. .
