I need an animation to explain how people are paid in the creative world (the film is about musicians) for my self-funded documentary.
The animation will take the form of a pyramid, with a large number of amateurs and hobbyists at the bottom, with progressively fewer people as you move up through the layers: semi-pro, pro, and eventually a tiny number of people who achieve stardom at the very top who earn by far the most.
The animation needs to convey the information in the attached graphic - but in a fun and informative way. Perhaps with cartoon people filling the different levels of the pyramid?
This is the introduction narration - the part where the animation will appear is marked:
——————————————————————————
This is a film about musicians. Not pop stars or famous performers. It’s about the people on stage with them. The session musicians on every record. The band in the orchestra pit at your favorite musical. The band playing at a club, concert hall or TV show. In fact, this is about the 99.9% of professional musicians whose names you will never know.
***Because, like the rest of the arts, music is based on a creative pyramid. With a huge number of incredibly gifted people, who fight every day to make a living, supporting the very few who rise to stardom; With all the recognition, money and opportunities that brings. ***
For every famous singer, there are dozens of working musicians supporting them on tour, in the studio and in the clubs. Whether it’s acting, dance, filmmaking, fine art or any art form, for every famous face there are hundreds or even thousands whose work you will see and hear, be emotionally touched by, be moved by, that will never be recognised. For this is the lot of the working artist. Yet each year a new generation of 1000’s leave our conservatoires, acting schools and art colleges hoping to make it as an “artist”. And they do it because they have to do it. They’re driven by a deep need to express themselves creatively. Often from a very young age, they are drawn to their art like moths to a flame. It will define them for the rest of their lives. It is a part of their very soul.
——————————————————————————
Needs to be provided as a high-quality 25fps 3840x1634px file - about 18 seconds long.
IMPORTANT: Please provide a simple sketch/mock-up of what you propose with your quote. The animation must be provided with unrestricted usage rights as this will be used in the film. You will be required to complete a release form to confirm.

Can your budget be raised?
Philip N.20 Apr 2023Why? I'll need more info before I'd consider paying more. What, specifically, do you propose?
Thom B.20 Apr 2023Well as a bench mark, £160 is extremely low for an explainer video...
