Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 3 - 4 weeks
16 named illustrations of various Celtic deities needed for book & game pieces, all to be contained within a rectangular bordered frame (each has a totem or emblem that can be incorporated into border). Postures, clothes description and colorings of each character provided. Printed size (need both b&w plus coloured version) circa 4" x 2" (outer edge of rectangular border). Shaded rather than flat-colors, I don't want a cartoon-like image. More "Arthur Rackham" illustrations (or see Thoth tarot and other graphical example links) than manga. But some images could be quite misty or imaginative artistically as there is little to go by, since some of the descriptions were from visions of occultists so little detail to go on. They must work as chess pieces (within rectangles or as silhouette). Also, ideally in Keltic-ish handwriting, each name of piece incorporated into bottom borders. Have posted some further info in replies.
All rights of reproduction to rest with me, but artistic credits will be given (this is quite a prestigious job associated with a mega-famous individual) but artist can used 2 agreed images as part of their portfolio. Final .jpgs for print and screen, but I don't mind how these are arrived at, either pen & water colours scanned or purely digital. But end product is for print more than screen.
Nuada at different times only has one hand plus the silver glove, or two. We overcome this by having him wearing the silver hand whilst holding sword.
"May Brigid spread Her Mantle over you on this Sacred Day. And may Brigid bless each one of you, with the silver apples of the moon and the golden apples of the sun, and if you wish it, the milk of the blue-eyed shell" http://mirrorofisis.freeyellow.com/id408.html - Celtic magic group, prospective audience for these.
There might be add-ons to this job in future, it should be easy to draw a reverse of each figures i.e. back of their head and body, outline of cloak color and hair only (in identical border). As a games developer am also thinking about a wireframe 3D version at some point in time.
