Description of excel work: I have a list of 2500 part numbers in excel with which I need to search 103 different Excel workbooks to show numbers of times each part no is listed and in which workbook. Not used macros before so would need instruction on how to install and use. Needed in next day or so.
103 workbooks range from 6.9 Megs in size down to 2K. Most of them are below 1 Meg in size. As they are all from different vendors they have different field positions and names. The key is the part numbers themselves which will be consistent across all the workbooks if they cover that particular part number.
This search can be done manually using windows search facility but is a ball ache to do. Example (not all data) files of search list to be read from and two example search books to be interrogated are attached. I'm using Excel 2013 (Office 365).
I need to be able to identify what workbook the part number sits in so I can record the total number(s) of hits and also if they are large, medium or small vendors from the file names already completed fro all 103 files per examples attached.
