Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I need training on how to automate a few common/routine tasks in Excel that I frequently use as follows:
1) Import an excel file from a location/path (either pick a file at run time or from a specified location)
2) Add one or many columns/formulas to a worksheet in a file
3) Summarise the data into a separate worksheet by a specific column or columns (Ex: pivot tables, graphs etc.,) and calculate sum, count, average, %, group by date age etc.,
4) Split a worksheet into separate tabs as well as separate files and save in a specific location/path. Option to save as a new file name or overwrite an existing file name
5) Compare two worksheets by a column or a few columns and save the difference in a tab or a separate file. Option to save as a new file name or overwrite an existing file name
6) Auto generate email attachments based on the above to a list of recipients using Outlook
7) Any other common task that might be useful in day-to-day Excel operations
I was thinking of creating a "template" execution file with command/option buttons for each task that I can use as and when needed depending on the demand at the time.
Please note that the number of rows/columns in the import file can vary.
Is this something that can be taught on-line via skype in a day or two considering I am in UK?
Let me know,
Regards,
Prasad.
