Our client has designed a website that is an aggregator for the hire industry and the client requires the viability of the concept and business plan to be validated by proving that the hire companies will use the site.
Initial Research is required into the plant and tool hire companies in Ireland. They need to be identified, contacted to find out who would handle advertising and to ascertain if there would be any interest in using the type of website our client proposes.
Any initial proposal is required as to how the validation can be carried out with proposed costs and timeframe. The current budget, which also requires validating, is circa £2,000.
The website is a 'one stop shop' for anyone searching for an item to hire. The website will list (advertise) all the items in the local hire companies and also any items listed by individuals. The website is a central advertising space it connects the owner with the person wanting to hire the item and provides contact details.
The website does not actually get involved in the hire contract. With a quick search for an item to hire the results will be displayed in order of distance from your location. It will display information such as description, technical, cost, contact details.
The website generates its revenue from selling advertising slots to companies and individuals at 50pence per advertising slot for 3 months advertising. The hire companies will be charged depending on the number of items they are advertising and their geographical coverage.
There is a need to get a large database of items populated quickly. The site will not work if a user searches for an item and the search does not display a result, they will not use it again therefore before I start to advertise the site the client needs a large database of items.
The website has been designed so that it can easily integrate with the large hire company websites with only a few hours work; this is the most favourable method of populating the database. For such companies a large amount of hire items can be uploaded easily using a excel format and once done it is easily amended.
However the site will probably be most valuable to the smaller hire companies that do not have a web presence.
The site is designed to advertise anything for hire in any sector however the client wants to prove the concept works for plant and tool hire first.
The client would like to concentrate on one area to prove the concept as the concept of the site is all about being able to get the closest item available to you. He wishes to restrict this to Ireland
