Description
Experience Level: Intermediate

Avaya is looking for an enterprising and driven social researcher to conduct a series of qualitative interviews in the London area. Our work is community- and civic-oriented, and our research broadly focuses on how we can enhance people's interactions with each other in cities. This post would be ideal for someone who wants to get involved in a young start-up that seeks to drive meaningful social change through innovation. Students and non-academic researchers are warmly encouraged to reach out. If this assignment sounds like it's up your alley, we look forward to hearing from you.
---
Responsibilities and Timeframe
You will conduct a series of interviews in the London area during January and February 2019. The assignment will last for approximately 6 weeks.
During this time period, you will recruit participants, carry out the interviews and assist with both transcription and analysis.
You will collaborate directly with our international team and work remotely.
---
Qualifications
Essential:
A desire to generate meaningful social change and shape business outcomes through qualitative research.
Enthusiastic about engaging with people, listening and observing.
An interest in the intersection between cities and technology.
Eager to work with a dynamic start-up and global team.
Able to operate independently while within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Nice to have:
Knowledge and experience in qualitative research techniques, especially with unstructured and semi-structured interviews.
Knowledge and experience in quantitative research techniques is an advantage.
Prior research experience in a non-academic environment (such as user research) is an advantage.
An undergraduate degree in a relevant field, such as sociology, anthropology, human geography, political science, urban planning or human-computer interaction.
Note This work requires someone physically based in London /Britain. If you outside Britain dont apply as our budget is limited and we cannot offer international flight/travel. You should be familiar with London geography and distribution of population. I need to see your CV Interviews will be done.
