Description of legal work: We are filing a lawsuit against a member of staff that lives in India and because we are not on the ground we would like someone local to represent us.
The case is for theft of money, we are filing it in court, and we need someone to be the go in between person to receive and manage correspondence, and possible represent papers and evidence we provide in court if it goes that far.
Most likely you will need to be from a legal background and live in India, therefore able to travel if required.
We will sign over a Power of Attorney to you to handle matters on our behalf, you then need to get this document notarised in India and provide it to the lawfirm so that they can file this case in court and we can begin to try and get our money back.
I am estimating $300 for this job, but if it goes to trial and you are happy to represent our papers etc in court for us, we can pay a little more to cover that.
Thanks
Extra POA notes:
1. To act, appear in the above noted case in the courts of law or in other in which same are or may be tried, pending, heard and also in the Appellate Court including High Court and Supreme Court.
2. To sign, file, verify and present pleadings, replications, appeals, written statements, applications, cross-objections or petitions for executions, other petitions, replies, objections or affidavits or other documents as may be deemed necessary or proper for the prosecution of the aforesaid case at all stages.
3. To file and take back the documents.
4. To withdraw and to compromise the aforesaid case.
5. To appoint and instruct any legal practitioners/ Advocates and authorise such legal practitioner to exercise the power and authority hereby conferred, whenever he may think fit to so.
6. To do any other act which the said attorney deems fit and appropriate in the above noted case.
