Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
We require the services of a qualified legal practitioner/solicitor to act on our behalf in a legal matter relating to our business.
Briefing:
We are a UK registered business. Last year, we went into agreement with a UK manufacturer to produce a specified set of tools for our business. These tools although produced we later found out were not produced according to agreed specifications.
Upon completion of our tools, we started production with this manufacturer using these tools so we never got the chance to prove that they were not completed according to specification. Although we suspected things weren\'t right due to the slower than expected production speed, our products were still being delivered albeit with great struggle.
This company sadly went out of business last month and we were left no choice but to relocate our tools to a different manufacturer who later discovered that portions of the tools were never completed - costs of completion of which is estimated at £14,000.
Shortly before the demise of our now bankrupt manufacturer, our outstanding invoices totalling just over £7000 were assigned to a third party (Barclays) via a firm of solicitors who are now demanding that payment be made immediately to their client. £1900 of this has now been paid with another £5000+ outstanding.
As we are being owed £14,000 tool completion cost by the original tool manufacturer, we don\'t agree to paying the outstanding £5000 now being demanded from us.
This is an urgent requirement and we need someone who can start immediately. Please contact me via PPH if you require further assistance.
** May I add that we are a startup company and we are unable to afford the services of \"city\" lawyers. **
