Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
We are loggerheads with a company called Larks & Larks over 4 pieces of furniture we purchased from them at a cost of just under £2,000 these are 2 x bedside cabinets, 1 x tall boy and 1 x chest of drawers.
Our first point of contact was there office manager we went through with him in detail what we were after we saw the style we liked in their catalogue asked him a number of questions which he seemed to answer positively for example the units wouldn’t be flat packed for just under £2,000 and he assured us the only thing we would need to do was slide the units into the casing easy peasy so we paid the money and were promised a 2 week delivery.
So without going into to much detail 2 months later , yes 2 months later the goods finally arrive and it was obvious these were not ready made despite being given assurances they would be , so after various calls and emails to Larks & Larks and getting nowhere we decided to take it up with the credit card company who have come down on the side of Larks & Larks because all the discussions we had with their office manager were not put in writing and hence useless.
By way of a good will gesture Larks & Larks said they would take the goods away assemble them at their factory which seemed like a plan. So they duly did this and when they redelivered the first item the tall boy it was awful it seemed a lot bigger that we imagined and look more like a filing cabinet (photos can be provided.
So we have now asked for our money back and them to collect this filing cabinet, but they keep reverting back to building the units at their factory and delivering them back to us but we’ve had enough it’s been going on since the end of July
There are however 2 items on the their quote which are not the same as the delivered tall boy namely
1. All the dimensions on the tall boy are bigger than the dimensions we gave them
2. There is something called a “20mm void” this was the style we wanted it gave a slight over hang on the furniture but the delivered tall boy doesn’t have this feature
