Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
My partner and I placed our daughter into a private school at the start of the September term last year (and we signed their contract). Prior to signing the contract we spoke at length on a number of occasions to seek reassurances from her that adequate steps were in place at the school to help with the introduction of a new child and to ensure they were happy (or at very least not unhappy).
After a number of incidents which were raised verbally with my child's teacher, head of year and head teacher and getting no adequate actions from the school we decided to write to the head and meet with her over the half-term of the September term and take our child out of the school to avoid any future distress to our child.
According to the contract we are due to pay a term and a half's fees plus any costs and interest and we have now received a claim form form the county court and a threat of a CCJ.
What we would like some brief (1 hour?) help on is a view on whether we have a case to fight this. I.e: Were we mis-sold? Or was there a fundamental breach of the contract from their side? If we do have a case we'd like some advice on how this should be phrase.
Timing-wise I'm looking at getting this sorted by the end of the week ideally.
Thanks in advance
