Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the business: Personal Football Database
Description of excel work: Hi,
I need some Excel filters making from drop-down menus from a data set of football results. At the moment, I'm having to filter and then copy & paste the data across to another sheet & I'm having trouble automating it - it's trickier than it first appears.
The data I want to display on each game's sheet is -
Home Team - Past 5 Games (sorted from newest to oldest)
Away Team - Past 5 Games (sorted from newest to oldest)
Home Team - Past 5 Games V Same Rank (sorted from newest to oldest)
Away Team - Past 5 Games V Same Rank (sorted from newest to oldest)
Home Team - Past 10 Games (sorted from newest to oldest)
Away Team - Past 10 Games. (sorted from newest to oldest)
Ideally, it will 'see' the ranking of the opposite team so I would only need two drop down lists but I don't mind if there's more than two.
As the season goes on, more games are added to the data sheet so I need to know how to either expand the data area, or it ideally incorporates the whole sheet.
I do need the results of the filters to stay in the same place on each game's sheet. I've been copying them too as my calculations are based on values being in these cells.
Each match has it's own tab and each league has it's own sheet, so I also need to know how to make apply the drop down menus to new sheets and copy them to other tabs.
The big red box is to be left clear for my calculations and I've highlighted in green where the drop down menus should go.
I've added the excel file so you can see what I'm trying to achieve. Any questions, let me know.
Thanks,
Simon.
