Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
We are an online courier company, offering delivery services worldwide through FedEx UPS and DHL. We are looking for a statistician or analyst to help us review our data along with our competitors pricing to help us set the best pricing level for each service and weight category, for every country that we serve. Of course it's also about balancing the optimal price with profitability, to come up with the right balance that enables us to capture more volume, while protecting our profit requirements.
Ultimately, we want to come up with formula that enables us to automate the decision-making process, so that we can feed our competitor pricing into our own / 3rd party software program to calculate the optimal pricing. We are open to either using 3rd party software or developing our own, as we have our own team of developers, but if there is a product out there that can help us in this task, then we really keen to understand how we can integrate that with our current technology.
Phase 1, analyse:
1. Number of quotes to each country
2. Weights of those quotes
3. Analysis of the quotes we win and the quotes we don’t win to try and understand why.
4. Analysis of how much profit we need to sacrifice to increase revenues
5. Tweaking of our charges to maximise revenues, but most importantly profits
Ultimately we need to find the write pricing point in the market to achieve our targets for revenue and profit growth. And of course this needs to be dynamic as market prices change all the time.
Phase 2
Helping us come with a formula and write new software that will enable us to feed in our competitor pricing, and the system then automatically adjusts the pricing as required.
Our ideal candidate:
• Has experience working on similar projects
• Has experience working on software programs that could support requirements
• Lives in London (advantage but not essential)
• Is good at explaining things in layman's terms!
• Is a genius with numbers!
