Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I have a large list of people who work on projects together and I would like some network analysis. Specifically, I want to visualise how often people work together, whether there is one hub of the top people or if it’s more decentralised etc.
My core dataset is large and so it might be that I have to narrow it down to make it more manageable. For now I am putting the full details but I am happy to do this as an incremental set of projects.
Here are the stats:
126k projects
4.6 m people
8m links
I have some basic metadata on the projects, so it may be possible to sub-divide them by a few factors. I also have details of the departments people are in, so there is a route to subdivide / focus there too.
The data is organised, with unique codes for each project and for each person. It is the form of a number of Excel sheets, with each row having a link (i.e. column A has person ID, B has project ID and C has their department). Separately I have a table of projects with their IDs and basic metadata.
I don't mind if the analysis work is done by you (just giving me the visualisations and the code for archive) or if you want to set it up and I actually run it. I don't know any coding languages to write / edit but I am ok following instructions to run code on my PC (Python,. R, etc). You may have to give me basic instructions but this has worked in the past.
Please apply with how you would approach it and a rough cost and timeframe. Don't worry about suggesting a different price to the one listed - I don't know how best to structure this work so am open to suggestions. Please link to any data visualisations you have done like this before.
