Description of support work: You must have previous bookkeeping experience and be able to maintain accounting books of two sister companies accurately and efficiently. You can work from home, but ideally you should be able to come to the office from time to time.
We use Freeagent cloud accounting software for bookkeeping.
Responsibilities are:
WEEKLY TASKS
Company 1:
Bank (current account) reconciliation ≈ 1 hour
MONTHLY TASKS
Company 1:
Payroll run & timely RTI submission ≈ 2 hours
Email payslips to staff members individually ≈ 30 mins
Credit card & Paypal account reconciliation ≈ 2 hour
Review monthly expenditure for any unusual/big transactions & prompt MD ≈ 30 mins
Company 2:
Payroll run & timely RTI submission ≈ 30 mins
Send payslips to staff members ≈ 30 mins
QUARTERLY TASKS (DIFFERENT MONTHS FOR EACH COMPANY)
Company 1:
Sort receipts & enter expenses on Freeagent ≈ 3 hours
Check transactions to make sure correct VAT rate and coding classification have been applied ≈ 30 mins
Company 2:
Enter purchase invoices on Freeagent ≈ 6 hours
Add up Z-reports and enter on Freeagent ≈ 1 hour
Reconciliation of all bank accounts on Freeagent ≈ 3 hours max
VAT figure calculation ≈ 1 hour max
File invoices ≈ 1 hour
END OF YEAR TASKS
Company 1 & 2:
Produce P60s for all staff members at the end of financial year ≈ 2 hours
Fill out P11D & P11D(b) forms and send to HMRC ≈ 2 hours
AD-HOC TASKS
Company 1 & 2:
Starters/Leavers administration - Produce P45s
Other financial tasks as required
