FD acting for a number of clients requires the support of a bookkeeper to client in the installation of an appropriate accounting system and ongoing review of the accounts. Skills required are the ability to set up systems and train inexperienced staff to use Instant Sage accounts. Once the training period is complete, there will be the need for regular review of the accounts to include the agreement of the cashbook with bank; preparation of standard journals; output of trial balance. In addition the bookkeeper should be able to prepare monthly management accounts as well as quarterly VAT returns for review by the FD and the management team. It is envisaged that there will be an initial input of time to set up the system and train the client in the use of the system followed by a day per month of regular work. More opportunities will follow with demonstrable success.
