Hi,

I'm from a company called Wired Sussex, based in Brighton. We're a not-for-profit membership organisation for businesses and freelancers working within the digital, tech and creative industries. We're running a discussion-based event next Tuesday 27th January in London and we need a professional minute-taker to record key discussion points. I appreciate that it's very short notice, but would you be interested in doing this? We are able to cover travel expenses and are fairly flexible with turn-around for the final minutes. You can contact me (Joey) on events@wiredsussex.com

Brighton Fuse Freelancer Research: The Results
Tuesday 27th Jan
Impact Hub Westminster, London
Event timings: 16:00 - 18:30
Rate of pay: £17ph

People are working in new and different ways in modern economies. We can see the rise of self-employed work in the UK and elsewhere, and especially with highly skilled professionals. But what is driving this trend? And how do we understand what is happening?

Until now, the role of UK’s independent professionals has still been largely understudied, and the Brighton Fuse Freelancer Research aims to lift the lid on this category of workers.

Brighton & Hove’s Creative, Digital, and IT sectors offer an ideal context for this type of research. Once again the Brighton Fuse research team from the Universities with Wired Sussex have collected and analysed a mass of data from Brighton's many freelancers and produced some very surprising results.

On Tuesday 27th January 2015 where we will be discussing the practical and policy implications of this research and looking at how the results of this research can reach and impact areas outside of Brighton.
