Have you ever wondered “What does a UI Architect do?” We interviewed our in-house wizard, Graham on 20 years of working in the industry.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If I had to explain what I do to a 5 year-old, I’d say..<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I take the designs from a designer and turn them into web pages or apps that you can see and use on your tablet and the laptop Santa gave you for Christmas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m self taught with 20 years of industry experience.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It feels like I\u2019ve been there since the beginning, not of time, just the web industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The best part of my job is problem solving…<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I get a great deal of satisfaction from completing a complex task.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The future of UI looks very busy!<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Being a developer means that you never stop learning. The world of front-end and web development is moving fast, due to emerging new technologies, APIs, and libraries that are changing the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The one piece of advice I’d give to someone wanting to become a UI Architect is…<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Be curious, keep exploring and learning new things, never be complacent and never believe you know everything. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If I wasn’t a UI Architect I’d like to be…<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A front end developer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My favourite app is Dark Sky.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It’s a weather app. I don’t like surprises!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My last meal would be Chicken Adobo.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It’s a Filipino dish that combines salty and sweet flavours. It’s delicious!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A funny career moment happened as a teenager after meeting with my school careers advisor and requesting to work with animals…<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I was given a job as a trainee butcher- not quite what I had in mind!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My mantra in life is that if you can dream it, you can do it!<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
