A market research company has said that
businesses should use the internet or the telephone to conduct "cost effective" research.
According to Simon Lidington, vice president of The Market Research Society (MRS),
small businesses could benefit most from good online or telephone research.
Mr Lidington said: "If you are a small organisation, you can conduct cost effective research online or by telephone or using qualitative techniques which will give you feedback and won't cost you a fortune."
Online market research has many advantages, according to MRS, including the option of finding many respondents at one time, and the ability to conduct worldwide research.
They also found that using the world wide web allows for a quick turnaround in response to questions, with many seeing results in days, and that it is a relatively inexpensive way of conducting quick research for
small businesses.
Those looking to conduct market research for their
business can find guides at the MRS, as well as contacting independent consultants and researchers who will be able to help.
