According to a recent study, small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) are ignoring current economic pressures as many plan to maintain or increase their advertising budget next year. Recent figures have been revealed from the Local Commerce Monitor carried out by the Kelsey Group for Adotas, an online analysis company. It seems that, of a total of 81%, 47% of SMB will maintain present levels of advertising spending while 34% are set for an increase.
The "remarkable resilience" of the small business advertising sector is demonstrated by this new data says Stephen Marshall, director of research and consulting at the Kelsey Group. He also points out the advertising budget of SMB presents a window of opportunity for media that enjoy good return on investment (ROI). A survey of smaller businesses reveals that ROI has, in fact, a prime motivating influence upon their recent decisions to invest well in advertising.
These latest figures may prove to be good news for freelancers who may be a more economical option for small businesses who save money by reducing or eliminating the need for permanent staff. It is hoped that the increased advertising will bring more work for freelancers too! |
