With the Beijing 2008 Olympics underway it is a good time to think about London 2012. With the big sponsors always present at Olympic Games and the immense amount of preparation needed, there is no doubt that a large number of work opportunities will be created for both businesses and freelancers.
London 2012 has launched its own business network to help companies of any size compete for opportunities at the London games. At its core the Network has the ‘CompeteFor’ service, which will match companies to the many opportunities for supplying London 2012 contractors. The Olympic Games in London are still four years away, but now is the time for companies and contractors to register their interest.
Direct contract opportunities will be advertised online on CompeteFor.com and contractors will be further encouraged to advertise their own supply chain opportunities using the same system.
Businesses signing up for CompeteFor will receive automated alerts of further tender opportunities for their fields. It is expected that there will be opportunities in most fields that freelancers normally specialise in, as the Olympic Games will need just about every kind of service there is to offer.
It is also rumoured that small businesses and freelance consultants need to be quick to catch the suitable opportunities, as a number of IT tenders have already been posted but with only a few days for people to bid. |
