A freelance writer is editing a new magazine aimed at people with diabetes, the Press Gazette reports.
Christine Michael, who formerly edited Slimming World Magazine and Slimming Magazine, will work for Select Publisher Services on the new title, Sweet.
The glossy magazine is aimed at the 2.3 million diabetics in Britain, and will be published once every two months at first, increasing to six-weekly frequency next year.
It will contain expert advice, special recipes, weight loss plans, celebrity stories and more.
"There are 2.3 million people with diabetes in the UK, a further 750,000 who have it but don't yet know it, and with rising obesity figures, even more who will be at risk in future," Ms Michael said.
"Having excellent supermarket distribution, which we have secured for the first issue, will put Sweet in front of readers who normally get information about their health from GP surgeries and hospital clinics."
